Future Forum Fire Protection

What will fire protection look like tomorrow?

Find out at the Future Forum Fire Protection, taking place on the stage in the exhibition hall on both mornings of the event.

Look forward to inspiring presentations on innovative technologies, digital solutions and the latest developments shaping the future of fire protection. Take the opportunity to engage with our speakers and join the discussion – your questions and comments are most welcome.

The programme on 02.12.2026 (German language)

Fire Safety in the 21st Century
Information security as the foundation for the fire safety of tomorrow

(German language)

Fire safety is becoming more digital, more interconnected and smarter – and is therefore increasingly dependent on secure and reliable information processing.

What happens if systems are disrupted, tampered with or deliberately attacked? And how can we ensure that fire safety technology continues to function reliably in an increasingly interconnected world?
This presentation takes a look at the fire safety of tomorrow and shows why information security is becoming an indispensable part of it. The focus is on current and future challenges, as well as practical solutions based on the principle: ‘As little as possible, as much as necessary.’

VdS guidelines already provide guidance in this regard and lay the foundations for safe, resilient and future-proof fire protection.

Panel discussion

When fire safety goes smart: How secure are connected and AI-powered systems?

(German language)

The focus is on the question of what opportunities networked and AI-supported systems offer for fire safety, and what new security requirements they give rise to.

  • How can networked fire safety systems be protected against cyber-attacks and tampering?
  • What interdependencies arise as a result of software, interfaces and AI?
  • What requirements does this entail for planning, operation, testing and certification?

Fire alarms of the future: digitalisation, safety and new possibilities with BIM

(German language)

This presentation provides a practical insight into the planning and design of acoustic and optical signalling devices in accordance with EN 54-3 and EN 54-23, taking national planning guidelines into account. The focus is on how digital tools and BIM technology can be used to clearly visualise signalling devices and their respective signalling zones, and to integrate them into building design.

Participants will learn about the new opportunities that digitalisation is opening up in the field of signalling technology and how modern planning solutions can help to enhance system safety.

The presentation is aimed at anyone involved in modern fire safety technology.

Reliable fire protection systems – despite increasing complexity and staff shortages

(German language)

The demands placed on the operation of fixed fire protection systems are increasing. This is due to the growing integration of fire protection and building services systems, as well as the rising number of technical interfaces. At the same time, there is a shortage of qualified personnel. Nevertheless, operators must fulfil their obligations reliably and ensure that their systems remain operational.

This presentation demonstrates how digital and automated solutions can support operators in their routine tasks, reduce risks and help to meet statutory and organisational requirements efficiently and safely.
